Walkers and cyclists can join the Derwent Walk Country Park straight from the caravan site, then link up with the Waskerley Way or the Lanchester Valley Walk.
The Coast to Coast cycle track runs beside the site, making Byreside a handy overnight stop as well as a base for day rides through the woods and along the old railway paths.
